Recent Haul

I just thought I would share with you all my latest goodies from a quick trip to Superdrug today. I was initially only going for my eye make up remover and then remembered I needed a new foundation too.

Garnier Fresh Essentials Eye make up remover - I absolutely love this product and i've been using it to remove my eye make up for years now.
I have tried many others in the past but i've never found one that comes close to this one for results and price. At only £2.00 at the moment its a complete bargain and removes every little bit of eye make up, even waterproof mascara, with minimal rubbing.

Maybelline 24Hr Superstay Foundation - I've never tried this before as I usually use my trusty Revlon Colourstay but all my local shops are out of stock of my shade and I really needed a new foundation to use daily so that I don't waste my Estee Lauder Double Wear.
I got the lightest shade that they had in stock but it looks a bit pinky so I might have to mix it with another foundation to get my colour right. I'll let you know how I get on with this!!

Maybelline Dream Matte Powder - I've seen quite a few good reviews on this powder on various other blogs and so thought that I would give it a try as my usual powder has just ran out and crumbled on me.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer - And lastly, I coldn't resist buying this to try as i've heard nothing but praise for it off a lot of fellow bloggers!! I've even heard it been compared to and being as good as Estee Lauders Double Wear Concealer so if its as good as that i'll definately be one happy bunny :-)

Has anyone tried either this foundation or powder before?!

What do you think of them?!

Nars Orgasm Dupe

Hi Girlies!!

As the title of this post states, I just thought I would share with you all a dupe that I have come across and thought I would share with you all.

It is The Body Shop Blusher in shade 04 Golden Pink and Nars Orgasm. I used to use Golden PInk all the time when I worked for The Body Shop and it was always the best selling blusher. It is a superfine powder which is easy to blend and has good staying power.

On the left is Golden Pink and on the right is Orgasm.

You can see from the swatches that Orgasm shows up slightly more pinky when applied on the skin but both have the peachy-pink colour with the slight goldy sheen to them.

Both of these blushers are lovely on the skin and give me a perfect, healthy glow that looks great no matter what make up look im going for. I love how both of them give me a slight shimmer and not the horrible chunky glitter that some bludhers tend to have.

The Body Shop blusher is £8.50 for 4g and Nars Orgasm is £20.50 for 4.8g. Both of these have lasted me absolutely ages and im on my second Golden Pink as I actually hit pan with my last one!!

I think The Body Shop blush is definately worth a try if the price tag that comes attached to the Nars blush is too expensive for you!!

Has anyone tried Golden Pink before?! What do you think?!

Take That and Hair Help

So last night, me and my Mum went to see Take That at Villa Park. I was so excited as im a massive Take That fan and me and my Mum have seen them about six times now since they had their big comeback.
I felt a little disappointed about the show as for me, it wasn't half as good as their last concert and this tour just seemed to be all about Robbie and he took over and kind of ruined the show for me. (Please don't hate me Robbie fans, its just my opinion!!)

Has anyone else been to see the tour?!

Anyway, on to the main reason for this post, I need some hair advice. It takes me forever to grow my hair and as it takes so long, I normally want to cut it again as soon as its long.
I love having long hair as I can curl it and make it wavy too but I also think that it can look lank and lifeless when its straight.

I took some pictures at the concert and then couldn't help but compare them to the last time I saw the guys on tour, back in 2009.

My hair was a lot shorter two years ago but I can't help thinking it looked a lot healthier with more shape to it.

This was me last night.

And this was me and Mum at the last show in 2009.

I always want to change my hair back to being shorter but I do love being able to do so many more things with it when its long. (I've spent a fortune on conical wands and waving wands and heated rollers etc etc!!)

So im asking all of you, my lovely blogger friends what you think and which look you prefer.

Your advice would be greatly appreciated!! :-)

Review: Elf Goodies

Hi Girlies,

A few weeks ago, the lovely people over at Elf sent me a few products to review. As i've raved over their products in the past, I couldn't wait to try them out!!
If you read my blog regularly, I love Elf products as they're really affordable and often really great quality.

This is what they sent me to try out!! I received a Nail Polish in Purple Dream, a Studio Blush in Berry Merry and a Bamboo Foundation Brush.

I was really excited about the Nail Polish as Purple Dream is one of their new shades for the spring/summer and everytime that I have tried to buy this it has been out of stock so it must be popular. I must say, after trying this out, I love it!!

I've never tried their Nail Polish before so was interested to see what it was like. I can't praise this enough!! Its got an amazing shine to it and the perfect size brush glides the colour on flawlessly. It also has a quick dry formula which ensures a perfect application every time and it dries in seconds. All of the shades are infused with Vitamin E which makes nails stronger and healthier too which is a bonus!!

All of this for just £1.50!!

Im wearing two coats in the picture with no base coat or top coat and I have now been wearing this for the last three days with not one chip. Pretty impressive for just over a pound!!

If you read my last post about Elf products, you'll know that I bought (and loved) a couple of their Studio Blushes. (Read it here)
I've wanted to try this one for a while but again, its always been out of stock. This is shade Berry Merry and its a very wearable colour thats very sheer so perfect for when your in a rush!! This blusher also has a kind of highlighter effect that makes me look like i've applied a highlighter so double points for this!!

The Studio Blushes are available for just £3.50 and to be honest, i've used much more expensive blushers for a much less effective result.

The third and final product is the Bamboo Foundation Brush. The Bamboo brush range is slightly more expensive than their other brushe ranges (with this one costing £5.50) but still more than affordable.
The reason for this is a good one as this antibacterial, synthetic, Taklon bristled brush is 100% cruelty free, luxuriously soft and can be used with wet or dry products.
Elf state that it is ideal to use with their Natural Mineral Makeup. The natural and sustainable bamboo handle and the recycled aluminum Ferrule is eco-friendly for guilt free beauty.

This is a really good foundation brush as the bristles are quite densely packed and it gives a really smooth application.
I have only used this with liquid foundations so far but it has worked well with all of them. Im not sure how well this would work with a mousse or cream foundation.

I really like the wooden handles on these brushes but the one downside is they are very lightweight which can be a bit awkward when applying your make up.

Overall, I would recommend everything that i've tried and thats my honest opinion!! I've always loved Elf products and these little beauties have not disappointed.

Have you tried any of these products yet?!

What do you think of them and which products would you like to try?!

I can promise that this review was completely honest and my own opinion, despite the things being sent to me!!

Travelling Light...NOT!!

This week my Boyfriend has been off work so i've been staying at his. I usually just stay for a night or two at a time and even that involves me packing a load of my stuff up and carting it round to his. I always have to take loads of stuff in case I need something that I didn't bring.

While just having a chill out day today, I couldn't help but notice (kind of in shock) just how much make up I actually bring round with me, so just thought i'd share with you guys!!

It actually doesn't really look that bad here, all in the bag but when I had a closer look, it was just rediculous!! This isn't my whole make up collection either, thats all at home, this is just what I bring when Im staying at the bf's.

I know I don't use half of this stuff but I like to have it with me as I can guarantee that I always want a certain eyeshadow or lipstick that i've left at home if I dont.

My Boyfriend went crazy when he saw all of this lying on his floor hehe!! I must admit, I really don't know why i've got about ten lip products with me.

This doesn't even include any of my make up brushes (apart from one), any of my skin care products or hair products, this is just my make up!!
I really, really can't travel light in the slightest which is kind of bad but everyone I know is used to that by now :-)

Is this a familiar sight to any of you?! Please say that it is!!

Summer Ready Feet and Hooray For Hemp!!

As the weather hots up and the sandals and flip flops come out, we all need to take care of our tootsies!!
We all get the dreaded rough skin on our feet and I always have to keep my feet in tip top condition in the summer months.

The Body Shop Hemp Foot Protector, Foot File and Moisturising Socks.

These are the products that I use on my feet and have done ever since I worked at The Body Shop. While I worked there, I tried so many of the lotions and butters and different creams and their Hemp Range was definately the most moisturising out of everything!!
Its not the nicest smelling product but it more than makes up for that in the results you get from using it.

Its got a grassy kind of smell and it is quite a thick cream. And yes, it does have a cannabis leaf on the packaging. I used to get asked all the time if it contained cannabis from customers but its just the Hemp Seed Oil is extracted from the plant.

The packaging states:

"Super-moisturising hemp seed oil is packed with essential fatty acids that restore skins natural moisture barrier and help repair dry, cracked skin."

For an extra intensive boost, I use this overnight with the moisturising socks.

I also have the Hemp Hand Cream from the range and this was always a best seller. Its good for people with eczema, if you work outside or with your hands always in water and of course very dry skin. Even if you just want a really good hand cream.
My Mum and Boyfriend use this too so it must be good!!

Again its a very thick cream but it does sink in quite quickly. I tend to use this hand cream more in winter and use my Soap & Glory Hand Food in the summer but the Foot Protector is a must all year round!! I want to try Soap & Glory's Heel Genius, has anyone tried this?!

Do you use this or can you recommend a different foot cream?!

Boots 17 Mirror Shine Lipstick Beehive

Hi Girlies!!

I've just noticed that i've reached 250 followers!! Hello to all my new followers :-) Im thinking of doing another giveaway to celebrate very soon!!

So, after doing my last post on my lipstick collection, I had decided that i'd got enough lipsticks and didn't need any more.
However, while in Boots today, I decided that I wanted another one!! (I know, very naughty of me)

With Flash

I finally caved and decided to try the now very famous, 17's Beehive. I'd seen this on lots of other blogs and really wanted to give it a try.

Without Flash

I took a couple of photo's as it looks so different without the flash but i'd say its more like the colour with the flash. Its a gorgeous nudey pink but i'd say more of a nude.
Its very sheer and moisturising and almost looks like a lipgloss on but without the sticky feeling. Its really easy to apply and just glides over your lips so its handy when you dont have a mirror with you!!

I think I might be a bit to jump on this bandwagon as like I said, lots of fellow bloggers have already had a rave over it.
If you haven't tried it yet, I would recommend it, even if you go for a different colour, the formula of these lipsticks is lovely.

Have you tried this?! Has anyone tried another colour?!

My Lipstick Collection

I thought I would share with you all my collection of lipsticks. Its not a huge collection as I never used to wear lipsticks at all and would always use a lipgloss instead.

L to R - Mac Blankety, Creme Cup, Creme D'Nude, Rimmel Volume Booster in Thrill and Foxy, Rimmel Colour Show Off in Love Me, Benefit Rumor, Topshop Ohh La La, Barry M 147 and Touch of Magic.

Swatches in same order as above.

L to R - Mac Blankety, Creme Cup and Creme D'Nude.

Blankety was my first ever Mac lipstick and I still love it just as much now as when I first got it. This probably explains why it looks so grubby, sorry!! As you all probably know, the Mac lippies are very soft and Blankety has also broke right at the bottom.
I seem to have always gone for the nudey kind of colours when it comes to Mac but im not sure why hehe!! (I did a post about Creme Cup here)

Rimmel Volume Booster in Thrill and Foxy, Rimmel Colour Show Off in Love Me.

Thrill and Foxy are discontinued now, as is the whole of Rimmel's Volume Booster range which im gutted about as Foxy was my favourite everyday lipstick. Its a gorgeous pinky nude colour with a slight sheen to it.

Love Me has amazing staying power and stays on even for a night out with minimal touch up's. My friends were all asking me which lipstick I was wearing and what i'd done to make it stay on!! Fab lipstick!! I think i'd like to try more in this range.

Benefit Rumor and Topshop Ohh La La.

I love Rumor by Benefit and did a post on it here. Its got a gorgeous gold tint through it and also stays on all day. The Topshop lipstick is my latest addition but it is very very bright when on my lips, so its taking a bit of getting used to!!

Barry M 147 and Touch Of Magic.

I love my Touch of Magic by Barry M as mentioned in a previous post. Its a lovely colour thats kind of like a lip stain but I don't really wear my 147 anymore. I've only used it a couple of times but don't think it suits me that much!!

I really should use all of these up before buying more but i've already got my eye on some more!!

So there you go, my lovely lippies. Have you all tried any of these?!

Fun Tuesday

On Tuesday I went with my family and my Boyfriend to see Peter Kay at the NEC (or the LG Arena as its now called) in Birmingham.

Me and my Bro Dave

(who requested to appear on my blog hehe)

My Brother, who is working in Edinburgh came down for a couple of days for the show, so it was nice to see him too!! We all went for a yummy meal before heading off to see Peter Kay.

My meal which consisted of ribs, chicken and chips mmm!!

I've loved Peter Kay for years now and have always wanted to see him live so was really excited when my dad managed to get tickets at Christmas. Its been a long wait from then until now to see him!!
It was totally worth the wait and he was absolutely hilarious. You know when you laugh so much that your cheeks and tummy actually hurt?! That was the case with me on the night!!

All of my photo's didn't come out that well but thought I would include one anyway. I didn't want to take a photo while he was on stage in case I got in to trouble or in case he picked up on it!!
I think his tour is still on for a little while yet but I can't wait for the dvd to come out as i've never laughed so much in my life!!

All in all it was a really fun day and we all had a laugh.

Has anyone else seen Peter Kay's tour?! Hope you're all having a good day!!

NOTD Barry M Boots Limited Edition

Hi Girlies!!

I thought i'd just share with you all, a gorgeous nail polish that I love but had completely forgotton that I had.
I came across this nail polish while having a clear out and finding it in one of my bags.

Its Barry M Boots Limited Edition.

I got this a while back, used it a few times and then forgot about it but it really is a lovely colour. I think that you can still get this from Boots, even though its called a limited edition. Its a gorgeous pastel purple, lilac kind of colour and I think its perfect for summer!!

I wore this on my nails today and got quite a few compliments so definately give this a try if you haven't already!!

Have you tried this?! Does anyone know of a similar colour?!

My Bargain Wedges!!

Hi Lovelies, hope you all had a good weekend even though the weather was miserable!!

I popped to the shop's the other day just for a few essentials. While I was there, I decided to have a look in T K Maxx. Its not normally a shop I go in, just because I can't be bothered hunting through the rails and rails of clothes, but I know that you can sometimes find a good bargain. And the other day, I did just that.

I found these gorgeous wedges in my size and had to try them on!! I think they kind of look like gladiator sandals but in wedges style. I love wedges as they're a lot more comfy than heel's and give me the height that flats don't.

These were originally from Nine West and the label on them said they were originally £65 and T K Maxx were selling them for £29.99.
I hadn't gone in looking for shoe's but I decided that was a good enough bargain for me as I like a pair of wedges for the summer anyway.
However, when I got to the till, the young guy scanned them and they came up at £19.99. I couldn't believe it, a bargain price and comfy too!!

I wore them all day on Saturday and there was hardly any rubbing which was amazing. I think i've found my perfect summer shoe.
I will definately be heading to T K Maxx more often now and just spend that little bit of extra time searching for bargains!!

What do you think of them?! Has anyone else found a good bargain recently?!

Glamour Magazine With Benefit Freebies!!

I managed to get a hold of July's issue of Glamour magazine and im so pleased as I normally miss out on all the decent freebies with magazines and get to the shops just in time to see empty shelves!!

They are giving away the choice of 3 different products from Benefit for just the normal magazine price of £2.

I was a bit naughty and bought 3 copy's so that I could get all 3 of the freebies!! They are little, mini, travel size bottles so good for taking on holiday with you or good just to try them if you haven't before.

You can choose between Bene Tint, Posie Tint and High beam (or just get all 3 hehe).

I've only tried Bene Tint in the past but I love Benefit Products and i've always wanted to try both the High Beam and the Posie Tint, but at £24.50 each for the full size products, they're a bit pricey if your not sure that you're going to like them or not. Im so pleased with these as it give's me the chance to try them first!!

They are 4.0ml whereas the full size one's are 15ml but I think they're the perfect size for keeping in your handbag!! I love Bene Tint and always use it on my lips but have never used it on my cheeks before and im looking forward to trying the High Beam.

Have you managed to pick up Glamour Magazine yet?! Which freebie is your favourite?!

Its A Kinda Magic

I was recently browsing the Barry M make up stand, looking for a new lipstick. I couldn't make up my mind if I liked any of them enough to buy them and then I saw their "Touch Of Magic" GREEN lipstick, yes I said Green!!

I had heard a few things about this lippie on various other blog's and I decided to try it for myself.

What it says on the Barry M Website:

"Green goes Pink!!
A waterproof formula with added Aloe Vera stays on for up to 8 hours. Depending on the alkali level of your lips, determines just how pale or rich the colour will go."

I absolutely love this product!! I initially thought that it would somehow be my perfect shade of pink and quite subtle but it actually goes quite a bright pink on me.
I kind of like this as it means if I apply it in the morning, then its still on hours later!! Although the glossiness has gone, the colour is still very much there and is in my opinion, better than a lip stain.

How it turned out on me

I would have liked to try this before I bought it but wouldn't have put the tester anywhere near my lips!! I did try it on my hand and the stain was still there even when I washed my hand!! I had to use a body scrub to get it off the back of my hand. Pretty impressive for a lipstick!!

I would recommend everyone to try it as im more than happy with the results and this has become my most reached for lipstick of the moment. I haven't yet seen it appear pale on anyone though, so bear that in mind if you're a nude lip's gal!!

It is available from Boots for £4.49.

Have you tried this yet?!

Fun in the Sun

Hi Girlies!! Just thought I would share a few photo's from the only day that we had some sun, which was Friday.
It worked out that it was my boyfriend's day off work that day so it worked out quite nicely. We just went for lunch and then went to sit in a beer garden for a bit just to sit in the sun!!

It was so hot and we didn't spend too much time outside as we didn't want to burn!! We were meant to have nice weather all weekend but as usual, it only lasted for a day!!

Did you manage to sit in the sun while it lasted?!
