Shopping Trip

So I got the train in to Birmingham yesterday and went to the bullring. As im from Birmingham, i've always found it amusing when people have their photo taken by the bull.
I really didn't want to do the typical tourist photo in front of it but this time, my mum made me!!

I think the only reason I managed to get a photo alone by it was it was peeing down!! I ran straight from the doors of Zara, stood there and back again in record speed!! My poor Uggs were getting wet!!

I got my brother to take this pic of me outside Selfridges. Its not a very good pic but the only one where that pole isn't growing out of my head!!

I wanted to take loads of pics of inside Selfridges to show everyone, especially the make up counters (heaven) but unfortunately its not allowed.

The only thing I was allowed to take was this bull made entirely from SWEETS!! Its HUGE as you can see from the escalators behind. It was on the ground floor and its surrounded by a giant pick and mix selection, which was mobbed!! There was a sign next to it saying that you could buy the bull for....wait for it.... £20,000!!

After seriously contemplating if I should buy one or two of the bulls, (ha), we came away with these yummy cakes. It took ages to decide which to get but I eventually picked the vanilla cupcake. (The profiteroles mound was for my dad and the slice was my mums, not all for me!!)

So after a long day of shopping (in the rain), I came home to this. My cake and a cappucino. Bliss!!

Im off for another day of shopping and visiting friends now so i'll update you all with what I bought in my next post.

Back to Brum

Im back home in Birmingham for a week!! I had to use up some holiday from work so I finally decided to come back home to see friends and family. The Boyfriend bought me down but has gone back home as he doesn't want to spend all week shopping and gossiping!!

My family live about 8 miles out of Birmingham but I can't wait to go shopping at The Bull Ring!!

The Bull Ring opened up just before I moved up to Glasgow and I miss it so much!! You get all your high street shops plus the high end ones too and I could just spend hours there. (Hence the reason The Boyfriend didn't want to stay the whole time).

This is where im heading asap:

Too much make up to even know where to start!! :-)

I'll hopefully have some pics of my week to update soon. Once i've caught up with everyone, i'll be taking my camera out and about with me to keep you all updated. I'll be spending my weekend shopping and avoiding all the clubs that my Brothers trying to drag me too. According to him, you can't come to Birmingham and not go to Gatecrasher, ha!!

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!!

Recent Haul

I went shopping yesterday with my friend who wanted to look for a new winter coat. We went in every shop possible and she still didn't end up finding one!! Anyway, I ended up in Superdrug (as always) and this is what I got:

I got a couple of Sleek items, an eyeliner gel ink pot and a pout polish. I've been wanting to try the new l'oreal renewal lash serum after hearing about it on a few blogs so I picked that up too for around 7 pounds something.
I also got MaxFactors 2000 Calorie mascara. After I wrote a post about all my mascaras, this was the one that a few of you recommended that I hadn't tried so im looking forward to trying this.

A closer look at my Sleek items: ink pot in Purple Rain and pout polish in Pink Cadillac.

Tonight after work, I went to get my hair cut. I just got my usual trim but I asked her to make my fringe a bit heavier as it always seems to grow out quite quick.
This is the finished result (excuse how tired I look, its been a long day!!)

I quite like how it turned out but I can't wait to wash it and style it myself!!

My hairdresser also made my day. My make up had been on since about 7.30am that morning, this was about 6pm and she told me how great my skin looked and was asking me what products I use on my skin.
I was rambling on and on all about my skin care regime and in the end I had 3 girls all staring at my face and listening!!

I was telling them how I used to have some acne scars and that I used a fab product from my work that really helped. They're all going to come along to The Body Shop now to come and buy it.

That product is the Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion.

As well as helping with spots, it helps to improve the appearance of blemish-damaged skin. I used this every night for months and it really, really helped. I would recommend it to everyone!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

A Different Kind of Post

Nothing really beauty related today, but thought i'd share the results of my day in the kitchen.

It was my day off from work today and I was at a loose end. The Boyfriend and everybody else was at work and the weather wasn't that good, so i've spent the day baking cakes. Im not too good at making meals and things from scratch, but I like making cakes!!

The Boyfriend is addicted to a fruit loaf that I make, so I made him one of those first:

Its so easy to make but I really don't like it that much so I decided to make me a simple sponge cake. (I just put a layer of jam in the middle as I can't eat a lot of cream.)

It didn't rise as much as its supposed to but its still tastes pretty yummy!! Think i'll be taking some of it into work with me tomorrow so that I don't end up eating the whole thing to myself!!

Im eating this slice right now as im typing this!!

After all the cake making (and eating) :-) I decided to take my dog, Max to the park for a run but it turned out to be more of a slow walk instead!!

Hope everyone else has had a good Monday!!

A Good Day At Work

As most of you know, I work at The Body Shop. From time to time, the manager sets incentives with various different prizes.

The prizes for the September incentive were all of the products from the new Love Etc range. We had to print off any sales that we had throughout September that were over thirty pounds and tally them down. At the end of the month, the tallys were divided by the amount of sales we had had and the person with the most, was the winner.

And that person was ME!!

I was so pleased as I haven't won an incentive in ages and I was going to buy the perfume just the other day and now I don't have to!!

On to something else that made my day go quicker. I was telling my manager how much I love these Thorntons chocolate lollies:

They come out for Halloween and last year, I think me and my Boyfriend kept our local Thorntons in business the amount we eat!! (We're just big kids!!)

I was telling my manager that she should try them and that I had to plan my route for my lunch break so that I didn't keep walking past them. So what does she come back off her break with.... 2 lollies!! Im now addicted again and think i'll definately be going back in at some point over the weekend!!

So all in all its been a very good day at work!!

Has anyone else tried these yet?!

IM BACK!!!! (Plus my new Uggs)

Im happily back in the world of blogging, yay!! I still don't know what went wrong with the laptop or how its been fixed, im just glad it is. I apparently have a different version of windows now but that means nothing to me!! (It does take FOREVER to upload pictures now, but i'll just have to put up with it!!)

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed how cold its been the last couple of days?! Maybe its just because I live in Scotland?!

So as winter is fast approaching, I ordered my new Ugg Boots a couple of weeks ago from ASOS. And they actually arrived pretty quick!!

I decided to get the Tall Chestnut ones. I like the tall version as you can wear them up or folded down which I also like.
My friend went to New York about 3 years ago and she bought me back the Tall Sand Uggs at a bargain price!!
I've kept them in pretty good condition but I wanted darker ones for the winter.

These are my poor old ones:

I have to say though, they will in no way be neglected. Still loads of wear left in them :-)

My Boyfriend can't understand why on earth I would want two pairs of these 'ugly things' but he soon changes his mind when im not complaining about my cold feet!!

My Dad thinks they look like boots that old ladies wear and im pretty sure my Mum agree's.

What are your thoughts on Uggs, love them or loathe them?!

Virus Update...

As you might have noticed, I haven't had the use of the computer OR the internet for almost a week now and its not funny.

I've been catching up on all my fave blogs, but only being able to use my laptop in 'safe mode' means that i can't upload ANY pictures so I haven't been able to post AT ALL!!

The Boyfriend is taking the laptop to his 'computer genius' friend tonight so hopefully he will be able to fix it!! He thinks he can but it might wipe everything thats on it!! Eeeekk!!

So hopefully, fingers crossed, i'll be back in action very soon!!

Meltdown!!

Im still here!!

This is just a quick message to all my lovely readers. I have a virus on my laptop which has caused Windows to crash!! :-(

The Boyfriend says its my fault as I opened an e mail from someone I didn't know (oops) and ever since then, it hasn't worked properly.
This has happened at the worst possible time as this is the week my family have gone on holiday and I NEED the internet!!

I've managed to do this post in 'Safe Mode' so hopefully I can try to do my normal posts like that too for now....even if it takes a lot longer!!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!!

My absolute favourite film is Dirty Dancing. I've made my boyfriend watch it over and over again and i've lost count how many times i've watched it!! I loved Ghost too, that film made me laugh and cry loads!! So just thought i'd post some of my fave pics for all of you who loved his films too!!

The Bargain Mac!!

So the other week my Mum was being dragged around local charity shops with my Dad. My Dad always goes in to look at the books and Mum just tags along!! I used to be really funny about going in charity shops and I always thought it was a bit un-cool going in. Now my opinions have totally changed.

Im so glad that on this occasion Mum went in as she found me this little gem:

I'd only been saying to Mum recently that I was struggling to find a cute Mac that was stylish and affordable. Im glad I told her I was looking for one otherwise she probably wouldn't have looked twice at this.
Its originally from River Island. I love that shop and I had been in there regularly looking for a mac. Its my size and its got a gorgeous animal print on the inside of the coat, the same as whats inside a lot of their handbags.

Its also got cute little tie's at the cuffs which is a nice bit of detailing. And the best part is.... it only cost £5.99!!

Bargain!! Thanks Mum!!

I also have to say Thanks to my Dad who says if it wasn't for him going in in the first place, I would never have got it!!

I've now had the coat dry-cleaned and it looks as good as new!! I think im going to have to get rid of my 'inner snob' and go looking in charity shops more often.

As they would say in Sex and the City: One girls trash, is another girls treasure!!

Also a quick reminder that the deadline for my giveaway is tomorrow night at midnight. Thanks to everyone that has already entered so far, the winner will be chosen very soon!!

Too Much Stuff!!

I've decided today was the day to start my mega clearout!! I've got way too much stuff and I need to sort it out. Im fed up of spending hours, searching for a certain product and not being able to find it!!

Im having a break at the mo to get my lunch and thought i'd share with you all my lovely mess.

I haven't even started on my wardrobe, bags, shoes or make up yet, this is just the result of one shelf from my cupboard!!

I think i've got enough body moisturisers to last me a lifetime and I dont even use them that often. I've got 3 more shelves to go from this cupboard and they all pretty much contain the same as what you see here. I just couldn't empty them all out onto my bed at the same time!! I don't think I need to buy any shampoo or conditioner for months.
I've got so many nice things and they're all getting lost in my junk. I find it very hard to throw things away but think I need to now!!

I better go to try and finish it before the Boyfriend gets home, he'll go crazy if he see's this!!

Is anyone else a product junkie like me?!

Happy Birthday Bro!!

Today was my "little" Brother's 19th Birthday. Thought i would put some pic's of him on here to wish him Happy Birthday as i can't go down home to see him!!

The day Dave was born, was the day I started school and I never let him forget it!! :-) We used to argue like mad when we were younger but we do get on really well now!!

This one was earlier on this year, when I went home:

This one was taken last year in Menorca when we were celebrating his 18th:

And this was him the other night at Gatecrasher club in Birmingham, at "Ibiza Night". Think this was the start of the night as he looks pretty sober!! :-)

Hope you had a Fab Birthday Bro!!

LUSH Goodies

On Saturday me and the Boyfriend went shopping. I made the mistake of going in all of his shops first and as soon as he had what he wanted, he was bored!!
So I only managed to get to a few of my shops. I did my usual Accessorize and Topshop and then came across LUSH. I don't have a local LUSH, my nearest one is all the way in town, so when im there, I love going in for a look!!

I only came away with two things in the end. A Sex Bomb ballistic and Lemony Flutter cuticle butter.
I could have spent a crazy amount of money in there but as I had a certain someone watching everything I was buying, I thought i'd better be good!! :-)

Im still quite new to the whole LUSH thing as well and didn't really know where to start. The shop is quite small with an upstairs to it and as it was a Saturday, it was mobbed.

I liked the look of all of the bath bombs, but the colour of this one appealed to me the most. I love how it has a little rose flower in the middle of it and the smell is AMAZING!!
It contains Jasmine, Clary Sage and Ylang Ylang and I can't wait to try it. I haven't used it yet as i've been too tired at night and don't want to waste it but i'll let you all know what i think when its been used.

The cuticle butter appealed to me as im still in the process of repairing my nails from acrylics. They've almost all grown out now, so im just trying to build the strength back up.

The smell of this stuff is gorgeous. Its really, really lemony without being too strong or citrus-y. It is a really thick butter but its not at all heavy or greasy which is what I like about it.
It contains Shea Butter, Beeswax, Soya Oil, Wheatgerm Oil and Lemon Oil, so you can imagine how moisturising it is!!
For this reason, you can also put this on any dry areas of skin. Knee's, elbows, hands, feet and even your lips!!
I've been applying this to my dry heels at night time and its one of the only things that has taken it away. I would definately recommend this stuff for any of the above.

It was £5.37, but you do get 50g worth of product for that, which is amazing compared to the likes of my Burts Bees tin where you only get 17g for around the same price!!

Im addicted to LUSH already. I keep looking on their website and am now making a list for next time I go.

What are your LUSH fave's?!

Tag - 11 Things That Make Me Happy

I was tagged by the lovely Krystle to do the 11 things that make me happy post, so here they are:

1 - Going to bed in a clean, fresh, bed. There's nothing better than getting into a bed with freshly washed sheets after a long, hard day at work.

2 - New purchases. Anything from make-up to clothes. I love the minute that item is placed into the carrier bag and becomes mine.

3 - My dog, Max. He never fails to make me smile, even on a bad day.

4 - Going back home to see friends and family. As I mentioned before, my Brother is good at impersonations and always cracks me up!!

5 - When my boyfriend does something cute without being prompted or asked.

6 - A good hair day. Need I say more?!

7 - Finding THE perfect pair of Jeans. I find it very, very hard to find a good fitting pair of jeans. Its almost impossible to find the perfect length, waist, style and colour all in one, so when I do, im over the moon!! Im sure most of you will agree?!

8 - Getting to the till with new clothes and when they get scanned, they come in less than the tag says, love it!!

9 - Lying all warm and comfy in bed, under the quilt when its raining outside, knowing that you don't need to go out.

10 - Take That. (Mainly Mark) I love their conerts, I look forward to them for months and months and they always impress me, their music and just them in general!!

11 - PAYDAY!! :-)

I tag: Ella and Nicola

Do I go to France or not?!

I've got a dilema and so I thought i'd ask all my lovely blogger friends to help!! :-)

My brother Dave is going to France for a month halfway through September. My mum and dad are going to go over for about 10 days and have asked me if I want to go too.
This would be impossible to resist if it was a normal relaxing holiday. However, my brother is going to visit all the historic sights and World War monuments etc etc as thats what he did at college and hes really interested in it.

Sounds boring doesn't it?!

Its always good seeing my family though. Dave is a comedian in the making and always cheers me up and makes me laugh.
The following pics are of me and Dave in St Andrews last week. We were just trying to get one good photo but he kept making me laugh.

And finally, a good one:

So i've got a list of pro's and a list of con's.

Pro's:
  • Seeing my family
  • Visiting Paris
  • Going to Belgium and eating yummy Belgian Chocolate

Con's:
  • A five hour drive down to Birmingham (my boyfriend will drive me)
  • A four hour drive down to Dover (my dad will drive)
  • A two hour ferry journey
  • A three hour drive to the destination (dad again)
  • The same all over again on the way back!!

And when I get there:
  • No tv or internet AT ALL!!
  • Visiting historic sights
  • No hotel, just a big house to stay in
I realise there are more con's than pro's right now, but it would be good to see my family and i've never been to France or Paris so would like to go there, but not sure if its all worth it.

I need to let my boss know on Thursday if im going or not so its over to you, what shall I do?!

My Daily Skincare Routine

I love seeing what products other people use in their day to day skin care regime, so i thought i'd share mine with you all!!

Although my skin can be quite oily, I use The Body Shop Vitamin E range which is for all skin types. Its a great all-rounder range and its really, really light in texture. This is why I like it as the Seaweed range which is for combination/oily skin can be a bit drying on my skin.

L to R - The Body Shop Vitamin C Micro Refiner, TBS Vitamin E Cream Cleanser, TBS Vitamin E Hydrating Toner, Clean & Clear Shine Control daily facial moisturiser, Garnier Eye Roll-On and TBS Vitamin E Moisture Day Cream at the front.

The cleanser is extra gentle and leaves my skin super soft. Its got antioxidant protection and contains pure wheat germ oil.

The toner is alcohol free so doesn't dry out my skin and this again contains antioxidant protection. The whole range includes pure wheat germ oil which I LOVE!! I have a few acne scars and was told that wheat germ oil can help. Since i've been using this range, they have improved a LOT!!

The day cream is really, really light. There is a heavier one for dry skin, but this one suits me as its so light. I mainly use this one as a night cream instead of the acual night cream as that ones too heavy.

The Clean & Clear shine control moisturiser is one of my more recent finds. I use this in the morning as it makes a great primer for foundation. It sinks in instantly and controls shine all day. I must say that it is nothing like the rest of the Clean & Clear range which is very, very harsh. I can't use the other products but this is a lot more gentle.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Micro Refiner is amazing!! It is described as Microdermabrasion, for radiance-boosting intense exfoliation. It contains ultra-fine particles and instantly makes your skin feel soft, smooth and looking radiant. It also contains Shea butter which is a bonus.
I would say its not suitable for sensitive skin as it is quite a rough scrub and contains pure Vitamin C.

As you can see above, it looks like a cream and you can't really see the exfoliating grains but you can definately feel them!! It really does feel like microdermabrasion but this is good as I only need to use it once a week, if that, as it is rougher, the results last longer than a normal scrub.

My last everyday product is the Garnier Eye Roll-On. I've been using this twice a day for about 2 months now but I haven't noticed that much of a difference.

Has anyone had success with this?!

I love the instant cooling effect it gives, but i initially bought this to help with my dark circles. I haven't noticed a big difference with my dark circles and I always try get my 8 hours sleep a night.

Im always on the look out for a good eye product that can help with dark circles so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?!
