My Mascara Obsession!!

Like a lot of you out there, im constantly on the look out for an AMAZING mascara. There's new one's coming out all the time but as yet, im still to find my HG mascara!!

This is my current collection of mascaras and they vary from really bad ones to really good ones. (Please note, they are not pictured in that order!!)

They are from left to right: Avon superSHOCK, The Body Shop Divide & Multiply, The Body Shop Super Volume (one in black, one in brown), Rimmel Magnif'Eyes, Maybelline Volum' express turbo boost, Rimmel Sexy Curves, Maxfactor False Lash Effect, Loreal Voluminous 4x, Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes, Yves Saint Laurent Volume Effect Faux Cils and my free-bie Benefit bad Gal lash.

I always want my lashes to look full, with lots of volume and lift. I use eyelash curlers everyday and if I have time, I sometimes use my heated eyelash curlers, but still am never 100% happy with the result!!

These are my most popular mascara's that I reach for on a daily basis. I have to say that i think the Loreal Voluminous 4x is my favourite out of all of them, just for a great day to day look. Its brush is quite large and not at all clumpy and it seems to coat every single lash, from root to tip!!

One of the comb mascaras but I love this one. Its not clumpy or flakey and the shape of the brush ensures all lashes are reached. I also love the purple packaging of Rimmel's Sexy Curves!!

The Divide & Multiply from The Body Shop is also a comb instead of a brush and this one actually does make your lashes look longer. Its good at seperating out all your lashes and making you look like you have more than you actually do. I just wish this was a brush instead of a comb as im more a fan of brushes.

This is my fave!! Look how big the brush is!! I like how its got a conditioning formula to strengthen your lashes too. I think most of you already know how good this mascara is!!

And last but not least Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes. I find this looks best on top of another mascara just to really make your eye's look amazing!! The sphere shaped brush adds loads of volume and it holds the curve of your lashes perfectly in shape. It also applies just the right amount of product to each and every lash, even the tiny one's in the corner of your eye!!

No doubt i'll keep buying mascara's, I get sucked in by the fancy packaging!!

Whats your favourite mascara?! x x

Maybelline The Colossal Cat Eye's Mascara

Hi Ladies!!

I recently picked up one of Maybelline's newest addition to their mascara range, which is of course their The Colossal Cat Eye's Mascara.
I was intrigued to try it as I do actually like a lot of Maybelline's mascaras and was interested to see how this one was any different.

I really like the brush of this mascara, its curved but not too big, so its great for catching every lash.

I found this mascara great for lengthening and defining my lashes but it didnt really do much for adding volume or creating curl which is something that I am always looking for!!

Also, it didnt really add any great length to the outer few lashes as it kind of claims to do but I wasn't expecting it to really. I dont think any mascara could actually help with that.

I really like this mascara and i've been wearing it everyday at work without it smudging or flaking.

Its available now priced at £7.99 but currently its £2 off in Superdrug!!

Have you tried this yet?! What did you think of it?!

Thank You Boots

I popped in to Boots today to get a few boring items like deodorant and ended up looking at the make up and of course, taking advantage of the 3 for 2 offer on all make up.
When I got to the till, I asked how much I had on my advantage card as I thought I only had about a fiver. I got a nice surprise though as I had around £20 so got all of the following for nothing :-)
Thank you Boots!!

I picked up a Revlon matte blusher which I have wanted to try for a while now in Perfectly Peach. I chose a Bourjois eyeshadow in No 13 (which I didn't want to get as it was No 13) but it caught my eye as its so sparkly!!

I couldn't quite capture the sparkle on my camera bit its amazing and I can't wait to try a smokey eye with it!! The left swatch is the eyeshadow wet and the right one is the product dry.

I couldn't decide what to get as my third item as I had too many products in my hand to choose from and my boyfriend was getting annoyed with me so in the end he chose my final product because "it looked nice" in his words hehe!!

He chose Bourjois Volume Glamour Ultra Black mascara and i've never used a mascara by Bourjois before so im quite excited to try this.

And of course, I picked up a couple of the fab promotions from Barry M and Impulse where you get a body spray and lipgloss for only £3.00. I was a bit annoyed as I could only find the pink lipgloss but as I was leaving the shop via a different exit, I saw a whole stand of all the different colours but by now I couldn't be bothered going back in to get more!! (Maybe another day) :-)

Have you all taken advantage of the 3 for 2 offer?! Has anyone tried this mascara before?!

First FOTD and New Bag

So I thought i'd try my first FOTD post. Nothing special, just my usual daytime look. Im one of those people that can't leave the house without make up on, even if it is just foundation and mascara!! As im quite pale and because of my colourings, without make up I look like I have no eyebrows and no eyelashes so mascara is a MUST for me!!

This was me just before work this morning (hence the uniform top). These are the products I used:
Face:
  • The Body Shop Oil Free Balancing Foundation
  • Benefit Boi-ing concealer
  • Clinique gentle light powder
  • Mini Bourjois Blush 07
  • The Body Shop eyebrow kit
Eyes:
  • Sleek Palette in Storm
  • Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner
  • Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara
Lips:
  • The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stain (VERY similar to Benefit's Benetint)
  • The Body Shop Liquid Lip Colour in No16
Next I thought i'd share my lunch hour treat to myself....lunch hours are dangerous when you work in a shopping centre, you end up buying stuff just for the sake of buying something, does anyone agree?

And here it is. I've been debating on this bag for a few weeks now and finally decided on getting it!! Its from New Look and cost £22. I normally buy black or tan bags so thought this would be a nice change for summer. What do you think, too bright or a nice change from boring black?

FOTD Using my Naked Pallette and a Body Shop offer!!

I went out the other night for a meal with the Boyfriend and decided I would try my Urban Decay Naked Palette for the first time. Up until then, I had just left it on my dressing table and looked at it :-)

The products I used were:

Face:
  • Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
  • Benefit Boi-ing Concealer
  • Benefit Coralista Blusher
  • The Body Shop Shimmer Waves in 02 Blush
  • The Body Shop Brow and Liner Kit
Eye's:
  • Naked Palette in Naked and Creep
  • Urban Decay Liquid Liner in Perversion
  • No7 Exquisite Curl Mascara (which is fab and will do a review soon!!)
  • Avon SuperShock Gel eyeliner Black
  • Collection 2000 eyeshadow in 01 Frosting as a highlighter
Lip's:
  • Collection 2000 Lip Definer in 1 Nude Pink
  • Mac Lipstick in Blankety
I loved this look and although my eye make up was quite heavy, it didn't really look it in the photo's.

I have to say these pic's were taken before I did my hair and got changed so please excuse the messy hair and pyjama top hehe!!

We went for a yummy curry and the place was so warm inside I was sure most of my eye make up would be at least a little bit creased by the end of the night but I was very impressed with the way it stayed on!! So far im loving the palette, I think Urban Decay is quickly becoming one of my fave brands for make up, love it!!

Just one more thing, i've just noticed that The Body Shop have got 30% off everything for today only if you have one of their Love Your Body cards.

I got mine when I finished working for them and have nearlly filled up all the stamps already so I might have to go and have a look tonight, with that sort of discount, how can you resist?!
BoldIt is available in store and online so its a good time to stock up if you need anything. Think i'll take the oppurtunity to stock up on my Coconut stuff!!

Hope everyone has a good day and grabs some bargains x x

Recent Haul

I went shopping yesterday with my friend who wanted to look for a new winter coat. We went in every shop possible and she still didn't end up finding one!! Anyway, I ended up in Superdrug (as always) and this is what I got:

I got a couple of Sleek items, an eyeliner gel ink pot and a pout polish. I've been wanting to try the new l'oreal renewal lash serum after hearing about it on a few blogs so I picked that up too for around 7 pounds something.
I also got MaxFactors 2000 Calorie mascara. After I wrote a post about all my mascaras, this was the one that a few of you recommended that I hadn't tried so im looking forward to trying this.

A closer look at my Sleek items: ink pot in Purple Rain and pout polish in Pink Cadillac.

Tonight after work, I went to get my hair cut. I just got my usual trim but I asked her to make my fringe a bit heavier as it always seems to grow out quite quick.
This is the finished result (excuse how tired I look, its been a long day!!)

I quite like how it turned out but I can't wait to wash it and style it myself!!

My hairdresser also made my day. My make up had been on since about 7.30am that morning, this was about 6pm and she told me how great my skin looked and was asking me what products I use on my skin.
I was rambling on and on all about my skin care regime and in the end I had 3 girls all staring at my face and listening!!

I was telling them how I used to have some acne scars and that I used a fab product from my work that really helped. They're all going to come along to The Body Shop now to come and buy it.

That product is the Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion.

As well as helping with spots, it helps to improve the appearance of blemish-damaged skin. I used this every night for months and it really, really helped. I would recommend it to everyone!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Saturday Night's Outfit and Pics!!

As you all know, I was out last night for my managers leaving do. Thank you for all your comments on which outfit looked best, I decided on the dress in the end, but still wasn't brave enough to go with bare legs as it was absolutely pouring down all night!!

I kept my make up quite simple actually as I didn't want it all slipping off my face by the end of the night.

I used the following:
Face:
  • Dior Forever Extreme Wear Foundation
  • Benefit Boi-ing concealer
  • Mac Hello Kitty Fun & Games blusher
Eyes:
  • Sleek Storm Palette (AGAIN!!)
  • Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner
  • L'Oreal Voluminous x 4 Mascara
Lips:
  • The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stain
  • The Body Shop Lip Gloss in No 16

And here's my outfit:

I changed my shoes to my tan heels as thought they went a bit better with the dress.

I wore a cropped black jacket too, which I have to say was used more as an umbrella than a jacket!!
  • Dress from Zara
  • Jacket from H & M
  • Shoes from New Look
  • Leggings from Topshop
  • Bag from Primark
I got the tiny bag from Primark at the last minute to match my shoes, but its actually a really cute little bag and at £3.00 I can't really complain!!

So onto pictures from the night, I didn't take that many as everyone had cameras with them and we were all getting fed up of having our pictures taken!!

This was taken while we were witing for our food. It was all really yummy, we thought it would just be basic bar food but it was actually really good. We all had different and I ended up having Fish & Chips. I know what you're thinking, nothing very special but it was amazing!! It came on a wooden plate, wrapped up in newspaper, with half a lemon and even a pickled onion, which everyone thought was hysterical!! It just looked very old fashioned. (I just want to add that it did have greaseproof paper inside too!!)
I've tried cropping the freaky looking guy out in the background but I end up losing too much of the pic!!

I've decided that I look like i've got NO make up on what so ever in this group picture!! I think I might need to start applying more?!

Me and Karen, she's just moving to another store to cover maternity leave but we'll all miss her!!

Overall it was a good night, but im now recovering as I was working today and am very much in need of sleep!! My next day off isn't until Friday so I think some early nights are in order!!

Just one more picture, I thought i'd show you who was waiting for me when I got back fairly late:

Hope everyone had a fab weekend :-) x x

Recent Haul

I just thought I would share with you all my latest goodies from a quick trip to Superdrug today. I was initially only going for my eye make up remover and then remembered I needed a new foundation too.

Garnier Fresh Essentials Eye make up remover - I absolutely love this product and i've been using it to remove my eye make up for years now.
I have tried many others in the past but i've never found one that comes close to this one for results and price. At only £2.00 at the moment its a complete bargain and removes every little bit of eye make up, even waterproof mascara, with minimal rubbing.

Maybelline 24Hr Superstay Foundation - I've never tried this before as I usually use my trusty Revlon Colourstay but all my local shops are out of stock of my shade and I really needed a new foundation to use daily so that I don't waste my Estee Lauder Double Wear.
I got the lightest shade that they had in stock but it looks a bit pinky so I might have to mix it with another foundation to get my colour right. I'll let you know how I get on with this!!

Maybelline Dream Matte Powder - I've seen quite a few good reviews on this powder on various other blogs and so thought that I would give it a try as my usual powder has just ran out and crumbled on me.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer - And lastly, I coldn't resist buying this to try as i've heard nothing but praise for it off a lot of fellow bloggers!! I've even heard it been compared to and being as good as Estee Lauders Double Wear Concealer so if its as good as that i'll definately be one happy bunny :-)

Has anyone tried either this foundation or powder before?!

What do you think of them?!

"Romantic English Country Garden Wedding FOTD"

This is my entry for Amy Antoinette's giveaway in which she asked her followers to create a "Romantic English Country Garden Wedding" make up look.

This is what I thought would look nice:

I thought I would keep it quite neutral and think this is a look where my pale skin actually works hehe!!

Revlon Colourstay Foundation, The Body Shop All in one Face Base, Benefit Boi-ing Concealer, The Body Shop Eyebrow Kit, Urban Decay Naked Palette in Naked and Darkhorse, Avon Blusher in Earthern Rose (used as a bronzer to contour), Nars Orgasm, The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain, Rimmel lipstick in Foxy, No7 Exquisite Curl Mascara.

I also used Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner in Black but forgot to put it in the photo!!

I used the lip and cheek stain for long lasting lip colour and then applied Rimmels Volume Booster Lipstick in Foxy which is a nudey pinky colour, to add a lovely sheen. Im not sure they still do this anymore which is a shame as its a really gorgeous colour.

I then added my rose stud earrings and my rose headband from Rock 'N Rose to add a more country garden wedding feel!!

I hope you like my look Amy and hope you get some inspiration for your wedding day from all your lovely followers!!

  • Benefit Boi-ing concealer
  • Mac Fun and Games Powder Blush
  • The Body Shop Brow and Liner Kit

  • Gosh Extreme Art Eye Liner in No 24 (amazing, stays on ALL day!!)

First OOTD, another FOTD and a big rant!!

I thought today that i'd attempt my first OOTD.

I had the day off work today and was really looking forward to spending all day in the sun but the sun just didn't want to come out and play today in sunny Scotland so this is what i wore.
I can't figure out how to use the timer on my camera yet and there was no-one around to help, hence the photo of myself taking my own photo!! (Please excuse my Take That calendar in the background!!)

I wore my Topshop jeans (the same one's I wore to the concert), a white tunic top from Topshop, coral cardigan from Primark and heels from New Look.
I was looking through all of my shoes the other day and I seem to have loads of them from New Look. They can be really good quality shoes, comfy and a good price!!
On to my FOTD, I was just going down to my local nail salon today so just kept my make up really simple.

I had on what I have on everyday for work with just a different blusher and lipstick.

On my face, I had on my Revlon Colourstay foundation, benefit boi-ing concealer and a new blusher I got from the sale at work. Its a roseflower blush in shade 02 Fushia. Its quite a bright pink so I only apply a small amount but I finds it lasts all day. Plus its reduced from £14.00 to £7.00 at the mo and thats always a bonus!!

On my eyes I had my Sleek Storm palette colours again (im using that all the time now), The Body Shop liquid liner in brown and my Rimmel Sexy Curves mascara. I find thats the one that im reaching for on a daily basis now.

Finally on my lips I have my new lipstick which is also in the sale at work. Its again from the roseflower collection and it also looks really, really bright in the packaging. It is shade 03. I would never, ever normally buy this sort of colour but as its from work, I ended up trying it on and loved it!! The colour lasts for ages and its got a kind of gloss to it thats not sticky but doesn't give you that dull look either.
Here are my two new products together:

Look how bright that lipstick looks there, compared to when its on my lips!!

Now for my rant of the day.

About a month ago I had acrylic nail extensions on as I was going back home to see friends and family and knew I wouldn't have time to keep doing my nails myself. I know they ruin your real nails but i've had them on the past and really wanted them done again.
As im now living in Glasgow and used to get them done at home in Birmingham, I had to find a new place. I decided on Nail Zone as its quite a popular company around here and thought that would be the best place. How wrong was I?!
The original ones were lovely and were on offer from £45 to £25. When I went back about 2 or 3 weeks later to get them infilled, the technician seemed really happy with herself that they were all still on. (This is the least I would hope for, for the money)
Anyway I had them infilled and really wasn't happy with them. You could still see where my last lot had grown out to and they just looked like i'd done them myself.
So i'd booked myself in for today to get them removed. I was booked in for 11.00am and was told it would take about 45 mins. It was 12.35pm when I eventually got out!!
My poor nails are in a right state. I know they are normally weak anyway but they are SO sore and keep bending!!

It took the girl ages (I think she was new) and the skin on my fingers kept bleeding from all the filing and buffing. She eventually remembered that she should be soaking them off so then I had her scraping away at my nails with a metal cuticle stick thing.
Needless to say I was in agony when I came out, my thumb nail is actually filed right down in one patch and is still throbbing.
I was booked in for a manicure too but as soon as my nails were off, I was out of there!! My nails are so uneven, I was straight down to Sallys to get what Hele recommended:

I hope this works. Im also planning on getting the Sally Henson Nailgrowth Miracle tomorrow to try and fix the problem myself.

I really don't want to go back to the salon so i need your help....

Does anyone know of anything I can do to get the bits of remaining acrylic off my nails?! Im not sure if acetone is best or just buffing it off?!

I apologise for my BIG rant but I had to get it off my chest as Im furious!!
